Well if you
made it to last Saturday’s event, I believe everyone will agree, it was the
best yet. In fact, it has been decided that next year Pokerdawg events will
move to one Saturday a month. Although we will raise the fee to $75.00, we
will include a buffet, still have $1.00 drafts, and increase the prize
pool. Thanks to everyone who made it out. A special thanks to our
Presenting Sponsor, C4 Planning Solutions and Bowen and Hanes Financial
Group who donated additional money, increasing our charity contribution to
over $7,000.00 from this event alone.
We had 34
first time players for this event. Hopefully we can get them to come back.
Five of them made it to the Final Table. Three of them cashed in.
Congratulations
to first time player Debbie Matula. Her name will join Craig Roberts (two
time winner) and Cliff Roberts (last year’s winner) on the Tampa Police
trophy which will be located at our downtown headquarters.
Mark
Schreiber won the 50/50 drawing ($165.00) and Charles Massucci won the 2
night stay at the Sirata Beach Resort Hotel. We raised an addition $600.00
with our Silent Auction.
Our
September 10th event had to be cancelled due to Derby Lane over
selling positions in the Lightning tournament, scheduled the same night. We
would have to wait one or two hours to get tables, so we determined it
would be better to cancel. I will be calling or emailing everyone with this
information, this week.
As a
reminder, although we did not award any league or final table points for
this event, you entry, re-buy and final table coupons will go into the
7-day cruise drawing scheduled for the final event, December 17, 2010.
Remember you do have to be present to win, but you don’t have to play that
night. The drawing will be at 8:30pm.

Next year,
we plan on playing once a month, on a Saturday night instead of Friday. We
will include food as well. This should increase our numbers. The dates will
be available in November.
