Thank you to
all of you who were able to make it to the Final event. We had 33 players
and it was a lot of fun.
Congratulations
to Martin Shapiro for winning the 2011 Pokerdawg
event. He received the custom made Pokerdawg
bracelet, provided by Bob Bado, Rollin James
Custom Jewelers of
Port Richey and Awesome Jewelers of Tampa. Additional thanks goes to our
Tournament sponsor, Buddy Home Furnishings and Jody Katz. They donated the
overall first place prize of a 42-inch LCD HD Sanyo Television, won by Lee
Ziegler. Martin Shapiro chose the 2-night stay at the Bilmar
Beach Resort Hotel and Bob Bado received $200 in
area restaurant gift cards for coming in 3rd place.
The Vegas
Trip was raffled and Martin Shapiro won that trip. A great night for
Martin. A one night stay at the Sirata Beach
Resort was won by Norman Levesque. Other prizes were awarded as well.
Mark
Schreiber was gracious and donated a baseball package including the no-hitter
line-up card autographed by David Price and Joe Maddon
and other autographed items to Special Olympics Florida. We did a live
auction and newcome Lief
Oskarsson offer $ 350.00, which went to the
charity.
Our next
event is February 11, 2012. We have reduced next year’s buy-in to $50,
without reducing the chip count or the food. Unfortunately the drafts have
gone to $2 each. Soft drinks remain at $1. We have eliminated the re-buys, however
if you get knocked out within the first hour, you will have the option to
re-enter the tournament for the $50 buy-in fee.
The 2012
Poker Dawgs Charity Tournament will no longer be
considered league play. We will have six individual tournaments where
players will qualify for a championship event held January 12, 2013. The
winner will receive the 2012 Pokerdawg bracelet
and a three night stay in Vegas for two, including airfare. Second place
will receive a WPT entry into a 2013 Derby Lane event.
Bring a
friend who never played in a Pokerdawg charity
tournament and receive a complimentary add-on to be used at the end of the
first hour.
